COOU students protest

Students of the Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Uli campus (COOU), staged a peaceful protest, demanding better welfare and reduction of exorbitant tuition charges.

According to the students who carried cardboards bearing various inscriptions, despite paying N130,000 as school fees, they haven’t had light since 2014, coupled with the deplorable state of roads on the university campus.

The students decried the policy of being made to pay full tuition fees to resit a course, and further accused the university management of interfering in the SUG electoral process, thereby, imposing unqualified candidates as representatives.
